Positive Minds Australia has a number of events throughout the year. These include Intensive Resilience and Social Emotional Literacy Courses for Young people, Parenting Workshops, Professional Training for Teachers, Educators and Health Professionals, Training to use ‘The Resilience and Wellbeing Toolbox,’ ‘Positive Mindset Curriculum,’ and ‘What’s the Buzz’s social emotional literacy programs. Other exciting events including parent retreats, educator retreats, kung fu classes for children’s self confidence  and family yoga, will all be announced soon!

March 2019

Calling on Principals, Teachers, SSO’s, ESO’s and Allied Health Professionals looking for a simple and practical Resilience and Wellbeing approach for your School, Health Care Setting or Private Practice.

Madhavi Nawana Parker is offering a rare training opportunity for you to become an endorsed facilitator of, ‘The Resilience and Wellbeing Toolbox.’

You will learn strategies for working effectively with school age children to build their emotional resilience and wellbeing. As you explore the program deeper, you will feel more confident about supporting young people who struggle to regulate their feelings, thinking and behaviour.

Once completed, you will receive endorsement and certification from Madhavi Nawana Parker. You can then confidently run ‘The Resilience and Wellbeing Toolbox’ in small groups, whole classes or through one on one therapeutic sessions.

NDIS recognises ‘The Resilience and Wellbeing Toolbox’ as a social emotional literacy program that helps young people who experience a braod range of challenges with friendships, emotions and resilience. If you are an NDIS registered service provider, this program could be added to your service.

Places are limited and tickets usually sell quickly. Morning tea, light refreshments and lunch provided. Attendees are eligible for up to 3 copies of ‘The Resilience and Wellbeing Toolbox’ book at $40 each on the day (RRP $65.00) If you already have a copy, please bring it along to refer to.

Madhavi Nawana Parker is back again to offer a small group Parent Masterclass. Madhavi will help you get to the heart of the trouble spots in your family life. Madhavi will teach you how to build your own emotional resilience to cope with the challenges of raising children, while providing loads of practical tips on Positive Discipline, Technology and Devices and Responding to Big Feelings while staying emotionally connected to your child. This is suitable for parents of children from 4 to the teenage years. (Madhavi will adapt information for the different ages).

Groups are kept small to provide individualised support and usually sell very quickly.

Madhavi Nawana Parker is offering an intensive resilience and self confidence course where your child will learn a broad range of tools that are the stepping stones to cope with pre adolescent and adolescent life. Madhavi will teach tips on handling bullying, conflict and difficult personalities, as well as emotional regulation skills.

Madhavi has also engaged an experienced and qualified Kung Fu teacher to offer one hour of self confidence building Kung Fu skills as part of this unique offering.

Madhavi Nawana Parker provides a rare opportunity to teach your pre adolescent and adolescent practical thinking and behaviour skills to manage anxiety and build their emotional resilience and wellbeing. Tips will also be offered around social media communication, tricky friendships, fitting in and handling uncomfortable feelings.

As an additional treat for the students, to close the session, Leah Braun, the Nifty Yogi will teach yoga and wellbeing activities to the group Madhavi.

Groups usually fill very quickly and are kept small to allow for tailored support and teaching. If your child has previously done an intensive course with Madhavi they are very welcome to come along as new material will be offered, as well as a chance to further consolidate skills.

Small, relaxed, non-competitive and inclusive groups to learn the Art of Kung Fu. Nick Bennet is a qualified martial arts instructor with over 20 years experience working with a broad range of young people. Nick is also a professional actor. His sessions are fun and interactive to build your child’s self confidence, personal strengths and sense of belonging. This is a 10 week course with the option to continue on longer term.

Sessions are offered by a qualified Teacher, Nikki Harmer Wadewitz in a warm, supportive and inclusive environment. Groups are tailored and kept small, running for 8 weeks per term over two terms in total.

Madhavi Nawana Parker brings together her background in Psychology, Counselling and over two decades working with children, families and schools to bring you practical, evidence based tools to keep you and your partner connected despite the pressure and busyness of raising a family.  Madhavi will teach you how to communicate your needs without causing conflict, how to express frustrations without burdening each other and how to bond in front of your children so they see what a healthy relationship looks like, to give them the best chance of having healthy relationships when they are adults. Ideally both partners attend the session, only one ticket required per couple.
